Hi Don,

I think I mentioned in my tutorial that a ringtone can't be longer than 40
seconds. You can't just rename a 3 or 4 minute song with the m4r extension, it
will not work that way.

I just posted a complete tutorial on how to make ringtones from songs using
iTunes 12 and this includes making sure you create a version of the song which
contains only a 40 second or less segment. You might want to check it out. I t
may sound complicate on the first read, but if you follow the instructions and
after you do it a few times it's really quite easy.

Sieghard

What is that as hadn't heard about it and yes think airplay is enabled on
ITunes.
So any suggestions.
Also have you heard or seen tones being lost or removed after downloading them
and installing from purchase from ITunes as just turned my phone back on a few
minutes ago and the tones downloaded last night that chose to be my
default ring tone and text tone are now gone.
Do I need to edit the length of the audio prior to using them as tones even
though renamed them to m4r?
Thanks and sorry for the head ache:).

Do you have audio ducking turned off? Turning it off has interesting effects on
several things. Also, do you use an Airplay device? If I use Airplay I have to
restart my phone before SIRI works again otherwise it does exactly what you
describe, SIRI beeps to listen and immediately beeps like when it stops. I
rarely use Airplay right now because of this and hope Apple will fix this soon.

Sieghards

Subject: Anyone else having trouble engaging Siri?

I often cannot engage Siri and my speech disappears very often. I’m trying to
figure out if this is a bug or if this warrants a visit to the apple store. If
I am in Safari and I press the home button to engage Siri, I get a tone and
then a bong. I cannot use Siri unless I go back to the home screen. Often, I
will completely lose speech after using Siri. I also have this same problem
when using the messages app. I did a complete restore on my phone and set it up
as a new phone. :( The problem is still persisting. I started from scratch just
to make sure. I am on a iPhone 5S running the latest iOS version 8.1.1.

I am an avid Siri user and this has become a real frustration. I also sometimes
cannot engage Siri at all via the home button when I am at the home screen and
I have to do a phone restart. I have tried everything that I can think of.

Thanks,
Christina
