Hi David,
Could you maybe write again and let us know if this message was some sort of mistake? The thread/message you are replying to is almost 3 years old, from January 20, 2012. In the current version of Skype you can hang up calls with a 2-finger double tap just like you would hang up a phone call. But you can also touch the home button and then slide your finger straight up from there and the End Call button will be right there. I know you say you have an iPhone 4 which is by now a pretty old device. I guess there might be differences between what you experience and what I experience on my 5S, but if Voiceover completely goes away on your iPhone when you use the Skype app, maybe try to completely delete Skype and then redownload it to see if that helps. I would also suggest you empty the app switcher before using Skype to free up as many resources as possible. I wish I could. I have the skype app on my iphone4. I accidentally started a voice mail going and then couldn't figure out how to hang up. I turned the phone off and on and it was still recording. I was recording for 7 minutes before I finally logged out of skype to stop it. Use your pointer and middle finger and tap twice anywhere on the screen when you want to hang up. When I do this, it hangs up the phone. Can someone else confirm this works for them too? On my phone, when I tap twice with my two fingers, I hear about 2 seconds of a song play from my music and this disconnects the call and voice over speech returns. The song does quit playing after 2 seconds, but I am actually wondering if it is the song playing for a few seconds that is causing skype to hang up? I know the double tap with my fingers is a quick way to start and stop playing music on the IPhone so maybe this is working to our advantage? For those just reading this, when you make a call on skype on your IPhone speech is turned off so you cannot swipe to hear or find the hang up button so this finger double tap may be a workaround. btw I am running skype 5.6.1 (latest version) on an IPhone 3S.
