I'm not sure about folders, but if you add files to your favorites then
they will be downloaded to your phone and you'll be able to access them
even if you don't have a network connection.

Raul,
Thanks much for your suggestion of Dropbox. My only concern is that I
will need an internet connection to access my folders. This is fine as
long as my G4 works!
Is there any way also to download those folders to the iPhone, as I
would on a computer, and store them locally?
At least Dropbox will allow me to upload them from a computer.
I will experiment and let everyone know as soon as I have something
working.

Hello there. First off welcome to the list. Second, no doubt you will
get other responses but here's what works for me. I use a program
called drop box. This is something which will work in your Windows
computer as well as in your iPhone. The service is free to sign up and
gives you 2 GB free for use. You can earn additional storage by
referring people or by doing various tasks. Once you sign up for
dropbox and install it on your computer it will create a dropbox
folder. Any files that you put inside this folder can be inside other
subfolders as well. So maybe you could have a songs folder or lyrics
folder inside dropbox. That is the first step. Next, there are
multiple apps in the app store which are text editors and which will
read dropbox folders. The one I like a lot is called droptext. This
app is completely voiceover accessible and will read your dropbox
folders and allow you to add new or edit existing text files which are
located there. I believe this will solve your issue of having to write
out lyrics in multiple places. The app I believe is two or three
dollars. Drop box itself is free.there are other solutions but this
one seems like would work the best based on your question. Good luck
and let us know if this works.

I have been on this list only for a few weeks, but am pleased to find
some very helpful users of the i devices. In case any of you have a
recommendation, this is what I would like to do:
I am using a 64-bit iPhone 4S with the latest iOS update and the
Focus 14 blue from Freedom Scientific.
I am looking for an app that would allow me to store hundreds of
small text files containing song lyrics, scripture readings, church
bulletins, etc. I sing in my church choir and have been printing
everything on paper, which requires both time and organization each
week. I would like to store everything in my iPhone so that I can
locate what I need quickly, turn off speech and use the Braille
display for reading and singing.
I have the text files stored on a Windows computer and would rather
download them than retype everything, if possible. Each file is
titled with the first initial of each word in the song, or some other
appropriate identifier for a text file to be read aloud.
Is this a dream, or something actually possible?
I thought about just using Notes, but don't know if there is a limit
to the number of notes I can store or if I can download files to
create new notes.
This does of course need to be accessible, as I have no vision.
If you know of any apps that might fill my need, please let me know
what they are and where I can find them. I am not concerned about cost.
Thanks in advance,
Beverly Wieland
