Just got to try this, wrote text in the normal input screen, then exited, went to messages, open a text field, cranked round the rotor to find edit,... no edit, got braille input like you do on the rotor, but no edit so I couldn't do all the cut/copy... paste; I do like to paste.
This is iPhone 5S, with iOs 8.1.1. Edit functions on an open text field is a bit fundamental and guess I'm going to be pointed at a different list.
