You need to go to the loadout tab in the armory to choose which weapons you want to equip. You have two slots plus your melay weapon. The swiping up switch only toggles between your two ranged weapons in your current loadout. You can eventually own all the weapons but can only take two at a time plus one melay weapon into battle.
