Is the app available in Canada? I did a search on it but couldn't find

Hi all, sometime back people were wondering if dark sky would alert to
freezing rain or sleet or frozen precipitation. It does alert to sleet
and snow, but I don't know about freezing rain yet. Although that a
freezing rain advisory was issued today so I believe that it would
alert to freezing rain also. So to clarify this is just to answer the
question that people were wondering about sometime back and I said
that I would write in if I got any answer to the question. God bless,

Hello all,
I have a need to either print or forward a text message. Can this be done?
Thanks for any help.
Max
Sieghard Weitzel <[email protected]>: Dec 10 07:13PM -0800
Not sure about printing, but you can definitely forward it to email.
Just swipe down on a message in a thread, you'll hear Voiceover say
"More". Double tap and the message you were on will be selected. You
can double tap other messages in the thread to select them although
unfortunately Voiceover does not say "selected". Then at the bottom
you have an option to delete on the left and an option to forward on
the right.

Sieghard

Thanks again.

Joseph Hudson <[email protected]>: Dec 10 09:35PM -0600
Hi, yes you have to activate the person's text message window first
before you can forward it. Dana once you have selected somebody's
message, you can swipe down and you will hear option such as more and
then double tap on that and then you will be able to find forward.
Agent086b <[email protected]>: Dec 11 02:58PM +1100
Sorry,
I feel stupid I can’t get any other option like more. There is only
one message in the conversation. As I say when I flick up or down I
just get those Two options. I wouldn’t worry but I am wanting to keep
this message before setting up my replacement iPhone 6.
Thanks all for your patients.

If you're changing roter settings then IOS is interpreting your touches,
swipes and taps as flicks up and down. I'm not sure if it's been
mentioned or not, but you might want to check out the VoiceOver practice
area. by going into Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> VoiceOver
and double tap on the VoiceOver practice button.
The keyboard is the same in every application, but if IOS knows you're
entering an email address, you will see a few extra keys on the keyboard
down around the space bar, like the at symbol and the period.

Home Thermostat Controlled by iPhone
<http://groups.google.com/group/viphone/t/5a56294f18eabc3f?utm_source=digest&utm_medium=email>
"Andy Baracco" <[email protected]>: Dec 10 06:39PM -0800
A while back, there was talk on this list about a smart home
thermostat that can be controlled with an iPhone. As usual, because it
didnt’ apply to me at the time, I didn’t save the info. Does anyone
have info about such a beast, and is it accessible to blind folks?
Andy
I'm not wearing a diaper, so don't try to change me.
Sieghard Weitzel <[email protected]>: Dec 10 07:08PM -0800
Andy,
I have been using the thermostat by www.RadioThermostat.com
<http://www.RadioThermostat.com> for several years now and they work
great and the app is accessible. I know a few people posted that they
have been able to find the thermostat which I believe is $140 from the
website for $99 from Home Depot. Of course you also will need a
professional installer to install this since it requires an extra wire
to be run from the furnace to wherever you want the thermostat. This
is a 24 Volt line which provides power to the thermostat. If you are
lucky your existing cable may have 4 wires in it in which case you are
good, if not a completely new cable may need to be installed. You can
also search the archive for “Radio Thermostat” and you’ll find some of
the old posts.
There is also a WiFi thermostat from Nest available, but it’s more
expensive and I don’t know about the accessibility although one would
hope that it is accessible. You can easily find it on the Apple Store
since it is sold there. Just look under “home automation”, can’t
remember the price, but I think it was over $200.
There is starting to be all sorts of neat stuff showing up in the area
of home automation. I just purchased 3 wireless security monitoring
cameras for my retail business. They are from a company called Dropcam
which I believe was purchased by Nest. Of course I can’t see the
camera feed, but the app is very accessible, I could easily set up the
cameras and they do have 2-way voice communication so I can open the
app, select a camera and hear what it picks up and the Talkback button
is accessible so I can talk through the built-in speaker.
I am also about to order the first WiFi connected thermostat which is
now available for in-floor heating from the company Nuheat. It is
called the “Signature” and I was able to find it for $190 (most places
including Amazon sell it for $250 to $275). The app which I already
downloaded has a demo mode and it seems to be very accessible. Like I
said, all sorts of neat stuff out there and I really want to buy some
of the Philipps Hue LED light bulbs which you can control with an app
(turn them on/off, dim them, change their colour, program them to come
on at certain times and all that), but they are still quite expensive
and I am hoping the price might come down as competitors may also
release products like that.

Sieghard

Hi Laury,
If you refer to the message about making ringtones then the answer is
Yes, you can make ringtones from songs. You can do this in many
different ways using one of a number of apps out there, any
third-party program which allows you to cut a 40 second or less
segment from a song or you can use iTunes.
I prefer iTunes since it’s already on my PC anyways and I posted
detailed instructions not that long ago as to how to do this. If you
go to the list archive (link is at the bottom of all messages) you can
find it by searching for “Creating ringtones from songs using iTunes
12 - the complete guide” which was the subject of the post.
Best regards,
Sieghard

is it just when working with this particular one?

Hi Nancy,
I know this doesn't solve the problem you have with KNFB and this
particular document, but have you ever purchased Prizmo so you could
try to recognize the document using that app? It would also be
interesting if it is something in the file which causes the crash and
whether it would do the same to Prizmo.

Hello,
Both the two-finger flick up and two-finger flick down commands for
continuous reading work for me in iBooks. It is necessary to first
touch the content portion of the display before issuing either
command. Otherwise, VO reads the entire current screen rather than the
book text.
If these steps are being followed, first perform a reboot. If that
doesn't fix the problem, use iTunes to repair/update iOS.

No kidding. My wife and I are both on Ting and our bill is around
$50.00 to $55.00 a month. We both have iPhones. Only once did it get
as high as $67.00. We were paying over $120.00 a month when we were
both locked into Sprint. We got both our phones (her 4S and my 5)
internationally unlocked. Domestic unlocking is still not possible.
Furthermore, Ting just announced that as of 2/15/15, they will be
supporting GSM unlocked phones.
Ting is great.

If someone wants access to the Sprint network, consider a provider
called Ting. with this company consumers pay what they use. Why should
someone pay for an unlimited plan if the consumer isn't talking
thousands of minutes a month or audio or video streaming hours a day?
With Ting, it is the same cell service at much lower prices than Sprint.

My suggestion currently is Vonage, if he is in the United States. It
is not a true SIP client, but it uses data and IP to transmit voice
over the phone system. It is not possible to receive calls on the app
though.
