I also didn’t know, but just found out, that if you touch the home screen with three fingers, you are given the location of the highlighted application in terms of rows and columns. Very nice.

Open the app switcher, touch the screen with three fingers. Normally this just tells you where you are on a page, how many rows are showing, that kind of thing. In the app switcher, it tells you how many apps are open and which number has focus. Like, "app 3 of 5." I accidentally touched with three fingers and heard that. I'd never used that gesture in the app switcher before. It will be a useful way to quickly find out how many apps are open, especially when working with someone relatively new to using the app switcher.
