Hi Lori,

First of all you should check if automatic downloads for updates is turned on.
If it is then apps will automatically update and you can turn this off if you
want to see app updates first and download them manually.

A lot of people like this because that way you can wait to update apps if you
are worried about accessibility until you hear or not hear on the list if there
are issues.

In order to check this, go to Settings, iTunes and App Store.

Swipe through the options until you get to the heading “Automatic Downloads”.

You’ll find 4 items here: Music, Apps, Books and Updates

If you want to update apps manually, make sure “Updates” is turned off.

The other items, Music, Apps and Books refer to whether you want to
automatically download these items if you purchase them elsewhere.

For example, let’s say you turn on automatic downloads for Music, Apps and
Books and you turn it off for updates. This means that if you maybe use iTunes
on your computer to purchase a song, app or book, then this is automatically
downloaded to your iPhone.

There is a similar setting in iTunes in Preferences under the Store Tab. If you
turn on automatic downloads there, then any music or apps you end up buying on
your iPhone are automatically downloaded to your computer and iTunes.

Whether you like this or not is up to you, but just remember that as far as app
updates is concerned, you do have to turn off updates under the automatic
downloads heading and this way you’ll see a number on the app store icon if
there is an update and you can then go to the updates tab and see what the
update is for, you can double tap on the name of the update to read the “What’s
New” and then double tap on the download button if you want to do the update.
It may say “App Store, 2 new items” and this will tell you that you have 2 new
app updates.

Regards,

Sieghard

Subject: app store and updates

Hi all,

I haven't seen an update in my apps in the app store under updates. How do I
make sure I'm seeing my updates of my apps to download under the updates in
the app store when a new version of the app comes out. Do I need to toggal
something on in the apps/iTunes store to make sure I'm getting new versions of
my apps to download? downloaded and Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
