Hi guys,

Since some of you will be returning from holidays in China, the summary of the week was that a good deal of the currently open PRs in virt-test were processed. In some of them, I asked the PR authors to re-create it fully or partially, and in some of them I just rebased and pushed them to master myself.

Also, some bugs found over the course of the past 2 weeks were fixed. I expect more bugs to show, of course, so if you have trouble please let us know, open an issue in the virt-test/and/or test provider issue trackers.

Also, expect me to do little/no maintenance in test provider repos, as I'll be focusing more in the core of virt-test, and also, in autotest. The test suite kept a good deal of my time for the past year, and now this balance will shift to autotest and core parts of virt-test.

We did identify some problems with circular dependencies, where the major offender is the module virtttest.virsh.py. After a while thinking about it, I made a workable solution, that will allow people that will write tests for tp-libvirt and also modify virsh to do so in test provider:

https://github.com/autotest/tp-libvirt/pull/12

Of course, we still need to reorganize and move functions from virt-test to tp-libvirt, but we can do so now in a transparent and calm way. There are many other libraries that better belong to test providers, but in order to not break things out of rush, we'll do it in steps.

Let me know of any problems, and thanks for your understanding. I know many disruptive changes keep people upset, and I don't like them, but we have to move to a better, cleaner and more distributed environment.

Cheers,

Lucas
