Machine type 'fedora-13' is a Fedora-specific alias for machine type 'pc-0.13' - that is, Fedora 13 was using qemu 0.12 but backported a patch that added some machine features from qemu 0.13, so it invented the name 'fedora-13' to expose those differences in default capabilities. It is a deprecated machine type (see bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=754772), and there are plans to silently convert 'fedora-13' into 'pc-0.13' prior to Fedora 18.
