I'm starting to reckon that a richer-functionality but potentially less
stable fork may be the way forward.  Then see which one gets the users over
the next decade!  It's reasonable that a mostly RedHat team prefer to
maintain a small, reliable product and reject suggestions for a larger
product; it's equally reasonable for a group of people outside of RedHat to
decide to maintain something different.
