I am sending a v3 of the previous cloud-init patch, adapting some changes that were suggested.
-Cloud-init configuration is now triggered by ... --cloud-init -Cli option root-password is added but not yet handled. Took the initiative to add a 20-second delay when generating the password, so it is noticable to the user. Password expires and a new one is requested upon first login. I will update again when root-password option is fully supported.
