Most direct approach is to install the VM with both the XP CD rom and the 
virtual floppy disk from here 
http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/virtio-win/13/images/bin/viostor-31-03-2010-floppy.img
 
Set the disk to be virtio and hit the key to load driver disk during install 
IIRC it's F6
