Brian and I have completed the first phase of development on the
next-generation TurboVNC Java Viewer, and the code has been checked into
trunk. This new viewer is based in part on the TigerVNC Java Viewer, so
it includes all of the features of that viewer (VeNCrypt and TLS
support, flow control extensions, etc.), but it has numerous
TurboVNC-specific fixes and enhancements as well, including support for
Unix login authentication on TurboVNC/TightVNC servers, GUI
functionality that is inspired by the Windows TurboVNC Viewer, numerous
fixes and tweaks, and complete documentation of its supported parameters
(run the JAR with -? to view it.)

Currently, the new viewer has not been integrated into the TurboVNC
build and release system yet, but you can build it as a stand-alone JAR
by running CMake in the java/ directory.

Any feedback is very welcome. There are a few known issues with it that
we are working to address, but it should mostly work as advertised with
both TurboVNC and TigerVNC servers.
