We now have experimental PAM authentication, courtesy of UCAR,
implemented in the Linux TurboVNC builds:

See the Xvnc, vncpasswd, vncviewer, and vncserver man pages for
information on how to enable and configure it.  I am looking for
financial sponsorship to extend this functionality to the Windows
TurboVNC viewer.
