Have you tried the latest version of VirtualGL? Does  vglrun +tr spit out a 
continuous stream of commands that would seem to indicate that the application 
is actually rendering something? What type of graphics adapter is on display 
:0? Do you have the proper vendor drivers installed for that adapter?
