That's surprising, since there were drag & drop issues with other apps (specifically, certain Java apps) that have been confirmed fixed with the latest pre-release build, and the symptoms of those issues are the same as what you're describing. I will need to obtain an eval copy of the app and duplicate the issue before proceeding further. What version of Matlab are you using?
