Hi all,

For the past few weeks I have been trying to install VirtualGL on Amazon
AWS, more specifically the cg1.4xlarge cluster GPU instance running Ubuntu
12.04 OS for clusters. This instance has 2 x NVIDIA Tesla “Fermi” M2050
GPUs installed.

At one time in the past I think I had it working but unfortunately I
terminated the instance and have had to re-create it again.

My aim is to run some graphics intensive 3d Computer Aided Engineering
modelling software (FEA/CFD) on the EC2 instance as a remote desktop
application and connect using TigerVNC.

Before I describe what I have done and the problems I'm having I thought I
would ask whether anyone else has any experience of this and if so, what
performance could I expect? Can I expect it to perform as well as (or
similar) to running the application locally?

Many thanks and I look forward to hearing your replies,

Dan
