I have a ATI 7850 with ati's current stable driver on ubuntu 13, same
problem existed for 12, And i am trying to run minecraft. I am seeing all
the same bugs as dcommander.
So no point posting pastebin's of my setup as problem is identical. I have
tried in turbovnc/vglrun and hitting some glx warning and also seeing a
vmware gpu device not my hardware gpu. So i tried a different approach i
used your vglconnect on a remote machine running ubuntu with a xorg session
going on my home network. It seemed to render the minecraft via software it
seems that the launcher is running via virtualgl, but then when the
minecraft launcher executes the actual game executable virtualgl is not
involved. I have also tried LD_preload with both of virtualgl's fake libs
and that also never yielded much success. have run vglrun with the switches
to expose whats going on, and as i pointed out above, virtualgl's
involvement stops abruptly when the launcher executes the game binary. so
unsure really where to take it from here
