I stepped through the VirtualGL LD_PRELOADs until I extracted the
minimal set of X/GLX calls necessary to duplicate the problem without
the LD_PRELOADs.

That is, I run the bug program without the LD_PRELOADS, but with DISPLAY
set to the TigerVNC X server and an Xorg server running on :0.  The
exactly procedure is detailed in the ATI bug report I opened
