Xvnc has been completely refactored using the stock X.org 7.7 code base (but with full integration into the TurboVNC CMake build system.) The keyboard handler has also been overhauled using a port of the XKEYBOARD handler from TigerVNC, and various other minor issues were fixed in the process. Current testing report is here: http://www.turbovnc.org/Documentation/Compatibility As far as I can tell, there are no negative effects from this overhaul and many positive ones. However, I haven't done any extensive application testing with the new X server yet, so please give it a run with your favorite O/S and window manager and apps and let me know what breaks. There are still some issues with regards to 3D window managers. Basically, VirtualGL will run the WM, but then when you try to vglrun an application inside the WM, the WM crashes. I expect that this is probably a VirtualGL issue and not a TurboVNC issue, which is why I'm CC'ing the VirtualGL lists. Note that this TurboVNC overhaul also includes an undocumented convenience feature-- you can now run vncserver with an argument of -3dwm, which will run xstartup.turbovnc using VirtualGL. Incidentally, if you are a TurboVNC user and you haven't yet subscribed to the new TurboVNC-users and TurboVNC-devel lists, please do so so you can continue to receive information on TurboVNC: https://sourceforge.net/p/turbovnc/mailman/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Want fast and easy access to all the code in your enterprise?
