Hello Jens, I wan unable to quickly diagnose the problem or reproduce it on 5.0.9.rc6, but the problem disappear when the existing 5.0.8 installation is upgraded to 5.0.9.rc6 and the virtuoso.ini is reverted to its original set (i.e. no Charset parameter set at all). The database was OK in 5.0.8 and there was no need to alter it in any way on upgrade to 5.0.9rc6 .
