VARCHAR() seems limited at about 4K bytes. I have study titles that go a little over 700 characters long. (Yes. People who give studies 700+ character titles should be shot. But we can't do that to them, in a civil society.)
The page http://docs.openlinksw.com/virtuoso/sqlrefDATATYPES.html is not clear what it's listing. Trying to create a BLOB type, for example, gives an error. There appears to be virtually no descriptions. Matthew C.
