Hi,
as Kingsley made me aware again of the possibility to deploy Drupal on a
Virtuoso server [1], I got in mind that the deployment was realized with
a package that consist of an old Drupal version.
So, what about updates in this direction?
Cheers,

Bob,
We will invest time in an update once we have some sense of endgame.
Historically, we've decoupled Drupal, Wordpress, Bugzilla, phpBB,
MediaWiki from Apache and MySQL. Sadly, most (circa. 2008) folks simply
left this to us etc.. Basically, many assume MySQL and Apace
independence == Open Source Heresy .
We have a library that goes a significant way to remapping MySQL API
calls ODBC API calls. Once this is done, the LAMP app stops being MySQL
specific bar existence of MySQL's non standard SQL usage. Thus, there is
a need to make ANSI SQL fixes for routines based on MySQL's own SQL etc..
At some point, we are going to basically, make a translator for these
MySQL's native SQL implementation so that you have ODBC transformation
for the CLI and SQL grammar translation for the other part of the effort.
Naturally, since this part is all Open Source, we are happy to work with
others. The hard stuff has been done, we just need others to join our
effort for Real Openness based on industry standards :-)
