The latest Virtuoso open source release  is 6.1.6 , release 6.4 is for the 
latest comparable commercial release ...

In terms of configuring the server for use of externally mounted disk you 
should consider using striping which is ideally for configuring external disk 
for best performance and future growth as detailed in the following 
documentation sections on the subject;
