Hi,

First of all, congratulations Daniele for this amazing piece of
software.

I have been trying to get a functional BRI (TE mode) with Asterisk for
some time now. I am working on a Soekris box, and I initially started my
tests with the AstLinux distribution.

It comes with mISDN and chan_misdn. I found that latency was increasing
over time... Useless for me !

I then tested chan_zap with BRIstuff. Sound on the Soekris was horrible.
Probably a problem with too many interrupts taking the box on its knees
(The Soekris is 266 MhZ).

I then tested chan_capi-cm with a Fritz! Card. That's the best solution
I have found so far, but getting CAPI to work on 2.6 is not that funny
:-)

And then came vISDN ! To make things a bit more complex, I am running
Asterisk 1.2.0-RC2.

With the help of Matteo's patch, I could compile everything. I also had
to upgrade my box to bash 3.0 (for the configurator).

The result seems to be amazing call quality ! However, for some reasons,
I cannot get DTMF to be handled by Asterisk...

I am dialing the DEMO context on the box, and I cannot get DTMF to work.
Is there a reason for that ?

Finally, the next step will be to forward calls to IAX or SIP trunks,
and I wonder if I should use zaptel/ztdummy to get a proper timing, or
whether vISDN can provide that.

Anyway, thanks for the work, and thanks for reading. BR, - Patrick -
