Yes I used the VisualSVN Server Manager. I used "Properties" option in
the menu shown in this picture (http://www.visualsvn.com/server/doc/
server-config/figures/server-repos-menu.PNG). I get a slightly
different menu as I have installed version 1.6.3 of the server.

My authz-windows looks like following after adding users:
[/]
S-1-5-21-3461425138-92242533-3151686502-70923=rw
S-1-5-32-545=rw

I tried including the domain name (with both / & \) in the user name
and enabling & using UPN format to no avail.

I get 500 error only if I enter a valid domain user name & password.
If I enter incorrect user name or password, I just get the
authentication dialog box again.
