Folder name change doesnt update

Hi i am using a visual SVN server 1.7.1 and Tortoise client1.6.1. when
i create a new folder in work area and add it to the the server thru
tortoise svn and commit. the folder gets updated in svn server, but
when i rename the same folder in workarea and update the the svn the
work area shows the new name of the folder ,where ther server shows
the original folder name.Can i get some inputs on it.
