We are glad to announce beta of VisualSVN Server 2.0. You can download feature complete and almost stable beta version from http://www.visualsvn.com/server/beta
Please note that this is NOT a final release of VisualSVN Server 2.0 and the current beta is intended for evaluation of new features only. The final version of VisualSVN Server 2.0 is expected to be released in the next few weeks. The main feature of VisualSVN Server 2.0 is remote server management. This feature is intended to reduce total cost of Subversion server ownership in a corporate environment. Remote VisualSVN Server management is based on WMI technology and provides the best level of security, stability and performance. Note that remote VisualSVN Server management will be available only in Professional edition. There are a lot of other changes that are available in both Free and Professional versions. Some of them: * Service runs under built-in "Network Service" account (instead of "LocalSystem" account that was used in previous versions). * Local users group "VisualSVN Server Admins" that have all necessary permissions to manage VisualSVN Server is added. * Fine grained access permissions are setup for the repositories root folder. * Dedicated event log co-called "VisualSVN Server" is used to store all server related messages. * Allow repository name to contain alphanumeric symbols from any locales. * Allow to skip trailing slash in the server root URL. You can find the full change log at http://www.visualsvn.com/server/beta -- With best regards, Danil Shopyrin VisualSVN Team
