Dear Uday: Thanks for your response. Yes, I am getting pdf files in quoted text in replies. I don't think I used to get them, but in any case would like them not to be there (nor any other large attachment) as I save copies of outgoing mail, but don't need attachments in replies.
On a related matter, if I forward (vm-forward-message) a message with a pdf attachment, it does not forward properly. That is also something I use often and would like to work.
