How to reproduce: View a mime digest (like one that comes from mailman) without navigating from the first message and with all the messages still marked as 'new' (N). Using vm-scroll-forward (space bar) on the first message scrolls through all the messages in the digest (and also does not remove the 'new' mark). It seems that the setting of vm-preview-lines is irrelevant.
