Hi Peter,

Thanks. That cured me having to do the START each time.

Still can’t get my new LPRXFORM CONFIG file to take affect

The trick is to do a ‘CP SMSG RSCS DEFINE IPDELOR ASTART’. When you do a stop on a printer, RSCS disables autostart.

Subject: How to get a new LPRXFORM CONFIG in play

Greetings,

I created an LPRXFORM CONFIG file on RSCS’s 191 disk and would like to change it and get it into play. I created a ‘REACC GCS’ file as well on RSCS 191 disk which contains the following :

/* */

Trace R

'ACCESS 191 A'

'ACCESS 192 D'

Originally I placed the LPRXFORM CONFIG file on a new minidisk I created for RSCS (RSCS 192 disk , read-only to RSCS but in the future writeable to the client).

I issue the command ‘CP SMSG RSCS EXEC REACC’ , see on the RSCS console that it did do the re-access but I can’t seem to get RSCS to re-read the new LPRXFORM CONFIG file to pick any changes or additions. How do I get RSCS to use the new LPRXFORM CONFIG ?

Also , I did a DRAIN on my IP printer (hoping that maybe a subsequent START  would cause RSCS to re-read the LPRXFORM CONFIG file) and now each time I want a file printed I have to do a START on the printer. This is my definition of the printer :

* IP DELORMIER (CGI) PRINTER

LINKDEFINE IPDELOR TYPE LPR FORM * AST

PARM IPDELOR EXIT=LPRXONE ITO=0 TCP=TCPIPC USER=Y PRINTER=RAW #

  SECURE=NO HOST=10.161.58.231 SYS=Y                          #

  EP='S=N FF=N C=LPR CONV=Y SUFFIX=1B45'

I start the printer with ‘CP SMSG RSCS START IPDELOR FORM *’. What am I missing here ?
