As Richard said, yes, it's correct. It's the only way to let you edit files that you have r/w access to in someone else's directory that you do NOT have r/w access to. SET RORESPECT ON forces CMS to assume that all files are R/O if the directory is R/O. Alan Altmark z/VM Development IBM Endicott
