Actually, the Linux TCP/IP IUCV line driver does not work with PVM. You must construct IUCV messages specifically designed to go through PVM and Linux doesn't do it. Further, if you look at z/VM TCP/IP local and remote IUCV configuration, you will see the are configuration differences; Linux doesn't have a provision for them. (But since PVM isn't licensed for IFLs except via special bid it hasn't been a practical problem for Linux.) In a VM cluster (ISFC collection), IUCV traffic will flow transparently between systems across ISLINK CTCs. The Holy Grail is ISFC-over-IP. Alan Altmark z/VM Development IBM Endicott
