Hello Les, I think the whole issue has been resolved. I have done the following:
1) Defined my printer with a PREFIX parameter indicating ISO 8859-1 for the symbol set selection. LINKDEFINE IPDELOR TYPE LPR FORM * AST PARM IPDELOR EXIT=LPRXONE ITO=0 TCP=TCPIPC USER=Y PRINTER=RAW # SECURE=NO HOST=10.161.58.231 SYS=Y # EP='S=N FF=N C=LPR CONV=Y SUFFIX=1B45 PREFIX=1B28304E' 2) Changed the LPRXONE Configuration file replacing all the TOASCII (and TOASCIIC) configuration records with the EBCDIC to ASCII table from the file 00371252 TCPXLATE from TCPMAINT 592. Everything seems to work fine using either the CMS PRINT or PPS command. Some observations... I can connect to my network printer (a Lexmark T620) by either doing a telnet to it specifying port 9000 or using my web browser to connect to it. I get the following after telnetting : ************************************************************ This session allows you to set the TCPIP parameters for your Lexmark T620 internal network device, with a hardware address of 002000F828C0, 0004001F1403 (MSB, Canonical). It's an ethernet card. ************************************************************ MAIN MENU 1. Set IP address Options 2. Set IP Protocol enables 3. Set MTU......................................... Anyways, thanks for your help, Mike -----Original Message----- From: VM/ESA and z/VM Discussions [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Les Geer (607-429-3580) Sent: January 5, 2006 12:36 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: LPR & French Canadian characters >Hello Les, > >Actually I think I've come to another solution. You can imbed PCL strings within the data, or as prefix commands, when using the LPRXONE LPR exit. Best Regards, Les Geer IBM z/VM and Linux Development
