I figured this out. I was reading through the source replacement section, when I should have been reading through the replacement maintained parts.
Thanks. I am preparing to include the text decks (HCPRPI, HCPRPD, HCPRPG, HCPRPW) that are generated by VMXCPG for VM:Secure into zVM... On page 5-5 of the zVM 5.1 Service Guide, it lists for Default Control, Apply and AUX File identifiers: Component, ctlfile, appid, auxft, vvtft CP HCPVM 5VMCMS10 AUXLCL VVTLCL The modid I selected is LX510. On page 6-4 Step 3a of the service guide, it says: 1. Update or create the AUX file (fn auxft, where fn is the name of the source-maintained part being updated and auxft is the file type of the local AUX file) and add an entry for the update file. Xedit fn auxft fm-local (noprof ===> input updateft svclvl lcmodid comment ===> file Would this mean? X HCPVM AUXLCL (noprof ====> I have no idea what substitutions should go for updateft svclvl I think lcmodid should be "lcLX510" Does anyone have sample control files they are willing to share? So that I could see how this is supposed to look... I realize I need to be more familiar with this process, but I don't have a lot of time for this task. Thank you. Cecelia Dusha WHS/ITMD/AEFDD
