If you DDR the 3390-3 to a 3390-9 and want to use the entire volume as SPOOL or PAGE, you should do a FORMAT and ALLOCATE on cylinder zero as the allocation bit map does not know about the extended cylinders and will complain about it.
This is more important with the RES volume if you move it and want to play with moving the CP owned areas. Jim
