Xerox channel-attached printers usually look like 3211s, which don't respond to autosensing. You need a Rdevice line in SYSTEM CONFIG to define the device (see CP Planning and Admin, device type 3211). You can also use SET RDEVICE to give it the information temporarily, but you need to add the Rdevice line in SYSTEM CONFIG to make it permanent.
