Greetings, all. I have joined the VNC mailing list because, after
reading through all of the FAQ on VNC, I do not think that I saw
anything addressing my problem.

I am running a VNC server on my Win2000 machine at work. Call
this machine "W" for the rest of this explanation. I am running the
viewer on my home machine ("H"), running Windows 98.

There are three other machines involved here. A co-worker's
machine, running Win2000 ("S"), his home machine ("S2") and
another machine on our work network ("B").

H connects to our work network through a VPN connection.
With that connection, H can connect and see B just fine. However,
H can log in to the VNC server on W, but never gets beyond "Initial
Screen Loading".

S AND S2 AND B can connect to W without a problem. I have
tried synchronizing the display settings on H and W, and have
looked to see if B or S have different settings for server or client
than H and W.

Is there a Windows 98 viewer issue I need to address? And if so,
why can I connect to B, which SHOULD be just like connecting to
W?

One thing I have noticed. When I connect from H to B, there is a
lot of network activity, i.e. as the initial screen loads, I can see
upload and download activity as the screen paints. When I try to
connect from H to W, after logging in to the server there is no
download activity. I can see packets being sent FROM H, but
nothing coming back TO H. Then, after 10-15 seconds, the whole
connection drops.

I am at the end of my troubleshooting rope here. I really want to be
able to connect from home to work. Can anyone help?

I am more than willing to answer any questions and provide any
necessary info that I may have neglected to give here.

Thanks,

Jonathan
