I cannot say for the official version, but I'll try to add the patch
to the next TightVNC release.

Alternatively, view-only access to Xvnc can be set up using the VNC
Reflector proxy. It supports two different passwords -- full-control
and view-only. It can sit between Xvnc and numerous clients and
restrict any input from those authenticated with read-only password.
The sources are available under

  http://sf.net/projects/vnc-reflector/

and are distributed under the terms of non-restrictive BSD-like
license.
