If the system does not respond to the <ctrl><alt><del> you can send from the
menu (at <F8> in unix based viewers, from the window bar in M$Windows)
Then you are most likely stuck.

If the system does not respond to a real <ctrl><alt><del> at the keyboard
your're stuck for sure.

If your system happens to be a Compaq Proliant Server (like the DL380G2) you
can ask your boss for the RemoteInsiteBoard (realy expensive) which comes
with some remote buttons, including a real power button! However,
performance (over 100 Mbit, direct link) is verry poor compared to vnc (over
10 Mbit network)
