I've been running VNC through SSH a few times to access my home machine from work, but
after a restart of my home machine I can't seem to get it back to work. I'm using
SecureCRT 3.4.3 and VNCviewer 3.3.3R3 on Windows NT on the client side. Server side is
Linux 2.4.8 (Mandrake 8.1 dist). I can connect from an XP machine on my home-lan no
problem, but when i try to connect to the same session number through SSH, VNCviewer
starts and asks for my password. Then the VNC window gets initialized (with the
correct screensize) and the text "Please wait - Initial screen loading" is displayed
on a gray background. At this time both the VNC session and the SSH terminal session
stop working completely, only thing I can do is disconnect the SSH session and then
try again.

A packet sniffer DOES show some data incoming, but far from enough to make up a
complete screen (or at least, that's what I'm guessing, never studied the VNC protocol
in detail). Does anyone have any pointers for me to look at that might help in fixing
this problem?

Thanks in advance:)
