Hi there,
You'll need to read the specs of your router, but most do "IP
Forwarding". What this allows you to do is to have the router pass along a
call to a specific port or range of ports to a specific computer. For
example you could have three PC's - a FTP box, a VNC box and a Web server.
Each can be defined for a specific port hence the router can forward FTP
calls to the FTP machine, VNC calls to the VNC box and web calls to the web
server. I think most -if not all- routers do this but you'll need to check
the specs of yours. BTW, the ports VNC uses are normally between 5800 and
5900 so just keep the range of ports 5800 - 5900 addressed to the VNC pc.
I'm not sure of the next part (as I've not done this) but heres' a neato
trick to try - assign VNC access for each machine inside your router by
using specific ports ie: 5801 for VNC machine 1, 5902 for VNC machine 2
.... To get to one of the machines inside your router with a browser then,
do:
http://123.456.789.012:5801 or :5802 or : 5803 .... you get the idea.
