 Thanks for your help, still no luck. I do have a d-link router between cable
modem and PC and I have configured it to forward port 5900 to the ip address of
the linux box running vncserver . I also forward 5901
to the same box. But this is what I get when trying to run vncviewer from work.

vncviewer: ConnectToTcpAddr: connect: Connection refused
Unable to connect to VNC server
Any other ideas, could it be becaucse the vncserver is being run by root on the
linux machine?
