Yes. There is nothing to see a the server if it is not powered. If no-one
looks at the monitor, that one can be off.

Since vnc uses tcp/ip to connect to the server, you can use other protocols

You can do a screendump from the vncviewer. You cannot use vnc to print from
a serverbased application to a printer at the viewer machine, you cannot use
vnc for this.
