I have a RT314 (NetGear) at home, and I was able to foreward the desired
ports. From what I can rember the RT314 uses a set of rules to pass on the
desired packets. These were configurable via telnet. These rules run in
sequence, so you must be shure that all rules before the VNC entry's ethier
pass the packet through or pass it on to the next rule. I also beleive
there was some settings that could be configured vai a web browser or telnet
where you could do an "override" of the rules by giving a static mapping of
an external port to an internal ip.

Subject: MR314, RT314 & ports forwarding

Hi,

I've following problem:
I would like to forward ports 580x and 590x (VNC) from internet to a local
machine. I've tried everything without any result.

Forwarding port 23 is working well, VNC access in the local net is also
working. Trying a telnet on port 5900 from the internet is also not working.
Trying a telnet on port 5900 from the local net is working.

Are MR314 and RT314 not able to forward this ports?

Viele Gruesse/kind regards,
Volker
