I have 2000 at my house and xp at work. Im going through cable so the comp at my house is always on and the one at work is on the saelite. The work one has a static ip. no firewall at my house and ip is set to obtain automatically.

You need to be more specific. For example: 1) What operating system are you running on the computer at your house? 2) How is the computer at your house connected to the internet? Is it always connected? Do you have a firewall? A static IP address?
