For the initial VNC connection, generally no. For samba, definitely yes. > 2. In any event, if that were the problem you would see a security error in the logs. There could be an issue later during the connection process, but I don't think you are getting that far. (But the sniffer traces will tell me exactly; why don't you save them off and attach them to an email to me, off list?
