Hi
I think I got this problem when I though inetd was launching Xvnc but
actually not because of a configuration problem (like your Home env
...).
Check and correct your inetd.conf or so.

Objet : Home Environment variable not set

Hi,

When attempting to connect to my vncserver I receive the error message
"Invalid protocol". I am starting vncserver using xinetd on Red Hat
7.2.
It seems to me that the server is receiving the request but is rejecting
it,
because I would receive a "Failed to connect to server" message. When I
telnet to the vnc port, I receive the message "vncserver: The HOME
environment variable is not set." If I manually start the vncserver, I
can
connect without any problems??? What am I doing wrong? Any help would
be
very much appreciated!

Chris Lewis
