Some questions:
What's the user's account that installed vncserver?
What's the location where vncserver is installed?
What's the user's account that runs vncserver?
What's the current location (`pwd`) while starting vncserver?
Whild guess: It appeares there is a file with the name vncpasswd and execute
rights in the current directory. The current directory (.) is in the
${PATH}, before the location of vncserver.
If so: somehow remove this vncpasswd file from the ${PATH} with one of the
next routes: remove it, go to an other directory or remove the execute
rights.

Running it as root can be a problem. Better run it as a normal user.

TRy to run vncpasswd on it self and see what happens.
